Science North OUTREACH PROGRAMS – BRINGING SCIENCE TO YOUR COMMUNITY
Looking for a unique and engaging way to bring the wonders of science to your community or school? Science North's Outreach Program is the perfect solution! From Kenora to White River and Wawa to Wiikwemkoong, our team of expert Bluecoat Scientists travel across the North to bring exciting hands-on programming to your event or classroom.
PUBLIC PROGRAMS
Looking for an impactful and unique experience for your next event? Our Public Outreach program is perfect for festivals, fairs, parks, day-cares, libraries and more! With workshops, hands-on stations and live science shows delivered by our Bluecoats, we have a range of interactive and immersive experiences for all ages.
We proudly incorporate Indigenous ways of knowing into select programming, offering a profound appreciation for the wisdom and knowledge passed down through generations. Our programs are designed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse experience.
SCHOOL PROGRAMS
For schools, our School Outreach program provides dynamic, curriculum-linked programming for students in grades K–8. We offer a variety of classroom programs and assembly-style science shows that are designed to meet learning objectives set out by the Ontario Science & Technology Curriculum.
Our Bluecoat Scientists engage your students with experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities that make science fun, dynamic, and easy to understand. With Science North, your students will develop a new understanding and passion for science.
To ensure a seamless experience for you and your students, we require access to programming spaces such as the gymnasium to allow time for set-up and takedown.
Our Outreach Programs serve communities at least 100 km from Sudbury, while schools within 100 km are invited to visit our facility and make use of our in-house school programs.
