This program offers students the chance to investigate and compare two-dimensional shapes using hands-on tools and technology. They will experiment with these shapes, while identifying and creating colourful patterns.

April 28, 2025 - Homeschool Program Gr 1-3 (Ages 6-8) Math is in Our Nature - Discover how forms are made up of basic units of shapes and how these are found throughout the natural world, including our own bodies.

April 28, 2025 - Homeschool Program Gr 4-6 (Ages 9-11) Micro:bit Makers - Tinker with code and find out how electronic gadgets work! Students will learn the basics of block-based programming with Micro:bit, including the use of variables, conditions, randomization and loops.

April 28, 2025 - Homeschool Program Gr 7-9 (Ages 12-14) Climate Experiments - What determines our climate and how it changes? Students investigate natural and human factors that influence our climate and climate change, including the greenhouse effect and heat transfer through air and water.

May 26, 2025 - Homeschool Program JK/SK (Ages 4-5) Robot Miners Unearthed - Robots can be found In our homes, in our schools, and in our mines! In this program, students will learn the basics of coding with a Code a Bluecoat activity before trying their hand at coding the Makeblock Ultimate, a 6 wheeled robot with a controlable claw!

Ages 6 - 8
May 26, 2025 - Homeschool Program Gr 1-3 (Ages 6-8) Ultimate Structures - Buildings and structures need to stand up to forces and loads we might not think about everyday. Students will learn about different forces and get to design and build their own structure which will be put to the test against different natural forces such as earthquakes and strong winds.

Ages 12 - 14
May 26, 2025 - Homeschool Program Gr 7-9 (Ages 12-14) Mine Systems - Hundreds of different systems work together in mines to output various mineral resources. Ore collection, transportation, and seperating ore from waste rock will set the stage for students to learn about the five main features of a system and their efficiencies.

May 26, 2025 - Homeschool Program Gr 4-6 (Ages 9-11) Power Up! - From cooling off in the summer to staying warm in the winter, and everything in between, we rely heavilty on energy. Through live demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will learn about how different sources of energy such as solar, wind, natural gas, and thermal energy are harnessed and used in our day-to-day lives.
