Ever wanted to look at the night sky through a telescope? Come on out to a Star Party and see what's out there!
Science North and the Sudbury and North Bay Astronomy Clubs have a regular schedule of star parties throughout the year - everyone is welcome! You can gaze at the planets, the moon and other astronomical objects through powerful telescopes and binoculars. Learn how to find constellations and hear some of the mythological stories associated with them. Star parties are held outdoors in front of the small snowflake building at Science North unless noted otherwise. Please dress for the weather! In fall/winter/spring, it's a good idea to wear a warm coat, gloves/mitts and touque. In the summer, wear long pants and sleeves, and bring mosquito repellant.
All star parties are weather permitting. Please call the Star Party Hotline at (705) 522-3701 ext 243 on the day of the Star Party (after 5 pm) to check if the Star Party will going ahead or had to be canceled due to weather.
