Meagan McGrath Homecoming

meagan mcgrath homecoming
Meagan McGrath was warmly welcomed home by over 400 people at Science North on June 19th. They attended Meagan's homecoming ceremony to celebrate her successful climb of Mount Everest.  Though she's travelled all over the world, and to the "Rooftop of the World," Meagan was overwhelmed by the support shown to her by her hometown crowd. She has consistently made all of us at Science North extremely proud to be her Summit Supporter. The humility, determination, compassion, and intelligence that she's demonstrated throughout her Everest expedition have been inspirational.  As Meagan would say, "Woo hoo!"  Meagan McGrath's Everest Adventure exhibit continues at Science North until September 3rd.

All summer, visitors to the Ends of the Earth exhibition will be able to interact directly with the polar bear keepers at the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat and 'meet' their resident polar bears live via webcast. In turn, Science North will webcast programming from the Ends of the Earth exhibit to the Cochrane Polar Bear Habitat.  Don’t miss it!

Science North recently delivered its inaugural school outreach program via webcast to Holy Angels School in Schreiber Ontario. This technology is enabling us to deliver educational programming into the far corners of the province.

This initiative is made possible with support by the Province's Celebrate Ontario program.
