Brand New Partnership!
The Science North traveling exhibit’s team is excited to announce that in association with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the National Institutes for Health’s National Human Genome Research Institute we are developing and producing a new exhibit.
GenoME: Unlock Life’s Code* will open in June 2013 at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History with the tour beginning in June 2014. Science North will be leasing and touring the exhibit.
This 2,500 sq ft exhibit explores DNA, literally the ‘stuff of life’—it is the set of instructions for making everything from you to zebras, strawberries, and even yeast. GenoME: Unlock Life’s Code will take visitors deep inside their own bodies to explore the mysteries of the human genome. They will learn what genomic science tells us about human disease, where we fit into the natural world, and how humans populated the world. Through physical and computer interactives, media experiences, specimens and artifacts, replicas, and an integrated mobile experience, the exhibit will reveal the revolutionary nature of genomic science and what it means to us as humans.
Best. ASTC. Ever.
What a conference! There were thrills and chills and even two headed turtles! Science North had a fantastic conference with our special booth guest Tyler Fyre, sword swallower extraordinaire. We sure drew a thrill-seeking crowd, including some brave souls who helped out!
Who knew that learning could be this fun? To check out what all the fuss was about here is the updated version of our The Science of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! traveling exhibit plan and brief.
