The Atlas Copco Theatre
The Atlas Copco Theatre will highlight Dynamic Earth’s expansion program and will provide a multi-use facility for the Sudbury community. This 125-seat theatre will be equipped with the latest in digital cinema technology. High Definition (HD) productions with a geological theme will be shown and coupled with ancillary exhibits to complete the visitor experience. The theatre will also host live presentations, signature productions, seminars and public lectures. |
Expanded Lobby
This space will ‘set the stage’ for the attraction with a strong focus on mining themes. It will provide access to the sales centre, the gift shop, the theatre, the café and a multipurpose room. |
Exhibit Change
With Phase 2, there will be exhibit changes within the existing galleries to develop themes visitors have identified as important. Changing exhibits brings people back for repeat visits and encourages them to bring visiting friends and relatives. The seven-minute Inco Chasm show will be renewed to share the Sudbury mining story and create a feel for what it was like for miners to spend their day in the dark searching for Sudbury’s precious metals. |
Programming/Workshop Space
This space will be the gathering area for school and tour groups and will provide space for workshops, functions for community groups and those attending seminars. It will allow Dynamic Earth to offer more fun and educational geology and mining based programs and activities for children and provide the community with a unique venue to host various activities and events. |
