Junior - Presenting the Lessons

The Saving a Great Lakes Champion lesson plans have been divided into four categories: Great Champion (the Lake Sturgeon ), Great Water, Great History and Great Ecosystem. Each lesson contains background information and an activity, and is supported by a PowerPoint presentation and web-based games. In addition, there is a culminating activity that draws on all the previous material and allows students to employ their new knowledge. Below you will find a suggested format for presenting this material.

Great Champion < - Click for download materials
  1. Read the For the Teacher information. Have students read An Old Friend story or present the Junior An Old Friend PowerPoint presentation.
  2. View the Junior Great Champion PowerPoint presentation
  3. Review the Lake Sturgeon Factsheet and the Blue Shark Factsheet
  4. Students complete the Lake Sturgeon/Blue Shark Venn Diagram Activity
  5. Students can take the online quiz, Sally vs Sharky
