Game Changers is a highly interactive and immersive travelling exhibition that explores how technological advancements have shaped gameplay in video gaming systems and transformed the way we interact with technology.
This 3,000 sq. ft. exhibition examines how the intersection of audio, storytelling, graphics and gameplay creates the immersive environment of current video gaming systems. Game Changers takes visitors through the evolution of these video game features, from memorable PONG into the photo-realistic, immersive games of today.
This exhibition highlights approximately 140 iconic games, 16 of which are playable, that have had significant impact on game design in popular culture and helps demonstrate how every evolution has helped transform the overall experience – from the soundtrack, through to the storyline.
Developed by the Canada Science and Technology Museum and tour managed by Science North, Game Changers focuses on Canadian innovations that have helped transform the gaming scene and revolutionize the industry.
The exhibition will first open at Science North, Sudbury in October 2016 before going on a Canadian tour until 2020, with a stop at the Canada Science and Technology Museum in the fall of 2017.

"One of the strengths of [Creatures of the Abyss] is the strong personal connection that visitors can make with researchers - this is conveyed with interviews, content review, and a speakers series. I am hopeful that this connection is copied by other science centers and museums as it brings a sense of excitement and relevance to the exhibit."
Dr. George I. Matsumoto, Senior Education and Research Specialist, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute
"This immersive exhibit taught us an incredible amount of information about the ocean and the amazing research that is happening there... in a place that we know so little about. We came away from this exhibit thinking about the ocean in an entirely different way, and inspired to make changes to protect this fragile ecosystem."
Lisa .A., Science North Visitor and Member
"I came with my two children (ages 5 and 3) to Fernbank yesterday and wanted to pass along my compliments on the Wildlife Rescue exhibit...The exhibit was one of the most hands-on and educational I have ever seen...Every part of the exhibit was working and was a fun and educational experience. My sincere compliments to the designers and to Fernbank for making this exhibit part of their temporary collection. Kudos!"
